Monthly Roundup: March 2025
Take a moment to reflect on the month that was
At the end of each month, I take time to reflect.
Reflection helps me stay present. It allows me to pause, process, and learn. Then I can carry those lessons forward.
March was a month full of meaningful moments, and I wanted to share a few of them with you.
From the stage to the podcast mic, Everybody Leads continues to shape how I think about leadership in real time. And with the book coming this summer, everything I’m sharing now is just a preview of what’s ahead.
Speaking Highlights
March 7 – Baker Donelson Leaders Meeting
Jackson, Mississippi
I spoke with 60 of our top leaders as we kicked off year four of our strategic plan, BakerVision 2028.
To ground the conversation, I shared a story from Ryan Holiday’s Courage is Calling. The one about General Douglas MacArthur during the Korean War.When met with skepticism over a risky move at Inchon, MacArthur went to the chalkboard and wrote:
“De Qui Objet?”
Translation: What is the object?
That simple question clarified everything. The goal wasn’t comfort, it was strategic surprise. Inchon was the only move that aligned with the objective, so the path became clear.
I challenged our leaders with the same question:
What’s your object?
Because when you define your objective, your energy, time, and focus start falling into place.
March 20 – Association of Corporate Counsel (Charlotte Chapter)
Charlotte, North Carolina
I joined ACC Charlotte to share “A Baker’s Dozen of Practical Leadership Strategies from Everybody Leads.”
We covered a lot of ground! We touched on personal discipline, relational leadership, building resilience, and much more.
A few of the key themes included:
Showing up with courage and consistency
Staying grounded in your core values
Being curious and self-aware
Encouraging others with intention
Practicing “Dinner Table Diplomacy”
Knowing when and how to pivot
Avoiding drift and staying focused
The discussion was lively, and the questions were sharp.
I look forward to sharing tips from Everybody Leads for other groups in the months ahead.
Everybody Leads Podcast
This month, I had the privilege of talking with leaders across industries. They each shared unique perspectives on what it means to show up and lead well.
Recent and upcoming guests include:
Jon Olson – VP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at Blackbaud
Wade McGuinn – Founder of McGuinn Homes
Lindsey Davis Stover & Shivam Mallick Shah – Co-founders of 1953 Tequila
Lisa Calhoun – Founding Partner of Valor Ventures
We talked about how they stay motivated, focused, and resilient—especially when leadership gets hard.
If you haven’t tuned in yet, this is a great time to jump in.
Pre-Order Now: Everybody Leads
My book, Everybody Leads, is officially launching this summer, and I’m excited to share that pre-orders are now open.
This book has been a long time in the making. It’s built around a core belief I hold deeply: Leadership isn’t about job titles or positions. It’s a mindset, a choice, and a commitment to action. Everyone has the power to lead, no matter where they are in life.

Thanks for your continued support. I can’t wait for you to read it.
Thanks for reading!
If you haven’t already, I encourage you to try this: take five minutes at the end of each month to reflect on where you’ve been, what you’ve learned, and how you’ve grown.
You’ll be surprised how much meaning can be uncovered in the quiet moments of reflection.
Tim
